There is a special atmosphere that can only be felt in a movie that is just starting. Whenever a movie that I have seen several times starts again on TV, I can't take my eyes off it as if I am seeing it for the first time. It is as if thick scent molecules are pouring out of the screen and filling the room. It is a pheromone that encourages adventure.
"When we got out of the long tunnel at the border, it was a snow country. The bottom of the night was white." So, if I were to translate it into words, it would be like this. Yasunari Kawabata's book begins its story with such a heart-pounding sentence. An invitation that leaves a strong trace of the author's presence, if you read such a sentence, you can't help but be drawn in.

I intend to talk more about the excitement of the introduction, but before I forget, I must tell you about my first impression of this free-spirited actor. On the first day of October, actor Son Seok-gu visited Lerici’s atelier. He came in wearing a loose hoodie and a completely hunched back, and he described his atmosphere by the way he slumped down upon seeing this unfamiliar table.
Although he is not an actor with a long filmography, I remember him clearly as 'Chief Cha'. In 'Designated Survivor: 60 Days (2019)', where the National Assembly building is blown up without warning, 'Chief Cha' is a character who is not in the main plot of the story, but Seok-gu somehow steals my attention with his attention-grabbing acting. Among the actors in serious dramas who are sharp and sharp, his free-spirited writing style stands out considerably.
"I saw Lerici's Instagram. I like natural things too. Uh..." Disappointingly, actor Son Seok-gu is not the cha chief who keeps delivering his lines without a moment to breathe. As he continues his slow speech, he occasionally looks up to the sky to his right and struggles to find his next words. "I feel joy when I discover hidden details. The more I hide something, the more it comes out." He emphasized the word 'joy' and waved his hands while speaking a paradox. That's a writer's habit. Although he may seem loose at first because of his soft body, his language is not light.

He emphasized the word 'ecstasy' and waved his hands while speaking paradoxically. That's a writer's habit. Although he may seem loose at first glance because of his soft body, his language is not light. He said, "A person who has difficulty concentrating on something." Nevertheless, the two are completely absorbed in this conversation that has been going on for over two hours. While they are searching through his clothes here and there and discovering hidden details together, his facial muscles move ceaselessly, expressing admiration and constantly urging him to tell the next story. Seok-gu also seems to have detected the unique pheromone that Lerici is giving off.
"When intention is visible, I can understand it rationally, but when I feel something without knowing what it is, I can empathize with it. I don't think there's a more difficult way to express it. Acting is the same. If you show it intentionally or show off, no one will be moved. It has to come out naturally from the inside out for people to empathize and get absorbed. That's what I want to do, really."
Mr. Seok-gu seems more serious than anyone else sitting here. He wants to listen to others' stories and respect each other's thoughts. "Everyone has their own way of pursuing their art." Working with people who have their own firm thoughts is extremely tiring. However, as he says, "Even if it doesn't work out right away, the end result will contain the whole idea," so it is a hardship that must be endured. There are definitely necessary pains in the world.

Mr. Seok-gu had a chance to briefly see actor Kim Yun-seok on set while making a special appearance in the currently-produced movie 『 Virus (scheduled)』. "I could tell just by looking at it for a second." There is an extraordinary aura about someone who has worked hard for a long time to build something up. They don't really try hard, but you can tell just by looking at them. It's so natural and dense that you can't easily analyze it in detail, but when you see it, you want to know, learn, and hear just one more word.
It only takes a second to notice charm, but it takes a part of your life to master such a dense atmosphere. There is no such thing as easy acting in the world. You have to know how to use your body completely, and you have to accept your emotions completely. You have to understand others’ inner self deeply based on your own understanding, and you have to be able to empathize with each and every life. Such experiences have to be filled in the actor’s mind for a long time, to the point where there is no room to enter, and only then can they flow naturally.
Seok-gu seems to have seen something like that here. Seok-gu came back after two weeks for Imbastitura (basting fitting). It is a lightly made garment shell (basting) made by knitting the selected fabric with a set pattern and basting. After putting it on the body and adjusting it more precisely, and filling it with hand sewing, the real Lerici garment making begins. It is like a rough sketch. But this garment is really interesting. It is a sewing that will disappear anyway, but it was made with great care.

Some writers spend a long time thinking about how to make a good introduction. Sometimes, a long story can be written in one stroke of a pen with just one sentence in the introduction, and sometimes, because they can't get that one sentence down, they can't write. That's why smart writers write the introduction last. And then, there are countless cases where the entire writing that has already been written changes.
If you think about it, the job of an actor is to risk their life on first impressions and images. They have to act out completely different lives, convince viewers in a short period of time, gain sympathy, evoke emotions, and leave deep impressions. It is not an easy job at all. However, such short impressions and fleeting images come from nothing but deep inner thoughts and long-term efforts. Perhaps they are not sparing their time, squeezing out a handful of essence.
Whenever I heard that first impressions are important, I would sometimes stick out my lips at that. There was a time when I believed that people were just shallow. It was a misunderstanding. First impressions are not something that can be easily made and it is impossible to fool the other person. So if you want to make a good impression, living like that may be the easiest way. Being honest is really hard, but it is also the easiest thing to do.
